   Our research activities are focusing on the integration of biological units with electronic elements to yield functional devices to address basic fundamental scientific questions and potential practical applications of the systems. In this talk the following objectives in regard of the coupling of biological systems with electronic devices will be discussed:

 

  -  Merging electronics with biology in a functional way, down to the single molecule level used for future nanoelectronic and biosensor devices

  -  A neuroelectronic synapse chip based on electronic devices and synaptically connected networks of neurons
